1. The job

2. The deal

Answer what you know. "Not sure" is fine: it tells you what to ask.

Are they asking you to pay anything (a fee, training, software, a deposit)?
Can you find the company and the person hiring online?
Did they move you to WhatsApp, Telegram or a personal email before any contract?
Is the pay written down as a number?
Is there a written contract or deal memo?
Does it limit how many revision rounds are included?
Does it say when you get paid (for example on delivery, or within 30 days)?
Are they asking for free test work or a sample made just for them?
Can they keep or reuse your test, samples or likeness (including to train AI) without paying?
Will you get a credit on the show?

Common questions

How do I know if a vertical drama or AI film job is legit?

Check that you can find the company and the person hiring, that the pay is written down as a number, and that nobody asks you to pay anything. Real employers pay you. A written contract or deal memo is the best proof the job is real.

Should I do an unpaid test for an AI filmmaker job?

A short test can be fair. A long or finished piece made just for them should be paid, and the contract should say they can't use your test in their show or to train AI.

How much do AI filmmakers get paid for microdrama work?

There is very little public pay data yet. Staff AI roles listed on this board show yearly salaries, while freelance AI episode work is usually quoted per episode or per finished minute. Use the checker to see what live jobs on Vertical Drama Jobs list right now.

What should a microdrama writing contract include?

The fee and when it is paid, how many revision rounds are included, your credit, who owns the scripts, and whether AI can be used on your work. One survey of Indian microdrama writers found most worked without a written contract or a revision cap, so ask for both.

Is my information saved when I use this checker?
